Hired has often asked me to participate in Q&A panels for them. I was a part of their contractor Q&A group before they even had a contracting department. They know how to find me jobs, which means they know how to make me money. When they asked me to speak at the General Assembly in San Fransisco, I was happy to oblige.
The event has already passed, but my guest speakers on the panel were pretty awesome. I’m just going to put the Eventbrite link here for my own reference.
While I’m absolutely sure I was cool and calm to everyone around me, I was completely nervous. I am constantly learning and growing as a developer. I make mistakes, and I’ve learned a lot from them. I know I have a lot to offer, but my insecurities are always in the background. Do I know enough? Am I the best, most qualified person for this position? Because of my insecurities, I make every effort to make up for my doubts by being polite, enthusiastic, honest, and overly helpful. I was almost the last person to leave that night; Definitely the last speaker.
Thank you so so much to Hired’s Flex (contractor) team for inviting me!
